Our sports curriculum is designed and planned in a way that enhances their growth and development in the field of sports as well. 

Oriental Academy believes in mass participation and students are encouraged to join at least one sports team. Our aim is to expose our students to various sports events at school, inter-school, national, and international levels. Also, the P.E. Teachers at our school are well-trained and hold outstanding expertise in their respective fields.

Every child’s fantasy begins with being the next Lionel Messi. Football is the most popular sport and every child must have that experience. We have dedicated football fields along with guided tutoring to give our students the best platform.

Football increases aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health. It lowers body fat and improves muscle tone. It also builds strength, flexibility, and endurance. The school has a Football team that has represented the school at various district and state-level tournaments.

VOLLEYBALL:

Volleyball is a sport that requires teamwork and coordination. At OASS,  Students learn to work in a team, take responsibility, and trust their teammates under super compatible coaches.

Volleyball improves muscle strength and tone. The activities required when playing Volleyball strengthen the upper body, arms, shoulders, thighs, abdominals, and lower legs. Besides, Volleyball improves hand-eye coordination, reflexes, and balance.

CRICKET:

A bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a circular cricket field outlined by a boundary rope. At the center of this is a rectangular 22-yard-long pitch with a wicket – a set of three wooden stumps – at each end. It also helps students to develop their sportsmanship and physical and mental stability to lead a team.

The school provides the equipment. The health benefits of playing Cricket include an increase in endurance and stamina, balance and coordination, physical fitness, improving hand-eye coordination.

RACES & ATHLETICS

Activities like Marathons, Races, Long Jump, etc are all a part of Athletics which boost the morale of our students to try harder with better preparations every time they perform. These activities stretch their abilities and enhance their stamina, muscle tone, and have a number of physical benefits.

KHO – KHO

Kho-Kho has been a favorite for generations and has the advantage of imbibing in the players a unique local flavor. The students enjoyed the simple agile movements and the alertness the game demands. The teams played with the spirit of true sportsmanship. Teachers and students cheered for the participants.

KABADDI

Kabaddi makes your body stronger and healthier, gives a fighter instinct. The chanting of the name kabaddi helps your internal organs, your heart, your lungs to become more strong and healthy.

The game teaches its players to fight with the right spirit. It teaches them to defend themselves and their team members as well as fight for them.

    INDOOR GAMES:

CARROM:

Carom is one of the most popular indoor games in India. Once treated a pastime game limited to children and ladies, it is now played at competitive levels in an organized manner. Carom helps in increasing the logical reasoning power in children. They get an opportunity to practice skills like counting, reading, visual perception, and coordination between hand and eye. This motivates them to involve themselves in healthy competitions, verbal communication and to focus their attention.

CHESS:

We have a Chess room with all the facilities and Chess Boards. The benefits of playing Chess are enormous as it raises IQ. It helps prevent Alzheimer’s, exercises both sides of the brain, improves creativity and memory.

BADMINTON:

Playing Badminton builds and tones the quads, glutes, calves, and hamstrings. Besides, the child’s core muscles, arm and back muscles get a workout as well. There are a variety of psychological benefits as Badminton promotes physical fitness; it helps to reduce stress and anxiety. The school provides Badminton Rackets and other equipment to its students.
